Xenetech Introduces Viper® II Electronics

Baton Rouge, La. – Xenetech Global, Inc., a leading manufacturer of laser and mechanical engraving and cutting systems, has announced the release of Viper® II engraving system controller electronics. The Viper® II electronics are currently shipping with all Xenetech 1313, 1625, 2525, and 2550 rotary engraver models along with all retrofit orders. Plans are also underway to include the new controller later in 2010 in Xenetech 912 systems, Jewelry Engravers, Gift Engravers, and all Xenetech lasers.

In addition to traditional Xenetech Viper® features such as extremely fast engraving speeds (up to 10 ips - inches per second), Ethernet connectivity, touch screen pendant, and full control Viper Communication Suite (VCS) software control, the Viper II electronics controller adds a number of advantages, including:

  • An increase in motor drive amperage to 5 amps allowing for use of a greater range of stepper motors and as a result, increasing the number of engraving systems Viper® electronics will run;
  • An increase in DC power to 48 volts which, along with the redevelopment of the output algorithm, allows for quieter, smoother, more efficient and faster acceleration of the stepper motors;
  • A smaller, more compact design measuring 12” L by 9.5” W by 4.5” H (30.5 cm L by 24 cm W by 11.5 cm H);
  • Fewer internal components and wiring allowing for easier manufacture and service;
  • Increased inputs and outputs for expansion and compatibility with automated applications; and
  • Full compatibility with Xenetech’s new color touch screen pendant.

These new controllers will help our customers reach even greater success.”

Xenetech develops and manufactures a full line of computerized rotary engraving systems, laser engraving systems, and professional engraving software for the recognition, sign, rubber stamp, jewelry, gift, and industrial marking industries.
